The Centre sits in the south-east corner of University Park, acting as a gateway to the campus. Sited on the edge of the boating lake, the building forms an amphitheatre against the water, providing an outdoor performance space. Internally, the building provides a 250 seat theatre, exhibition spaces for the D. H. Lawrence archives, an art gallery, and bar/restaurant facilities for users of the building and surrounding park.
